At The Roxbury Institute, home to the internationally recognized Advanced Lipedema Treatment (ALT) Program, with expanded clinical and research efforts at The Diagnostic & Preventative Center in Tucson, Arizona, our clinical and research efforts are centered on adipose tissue and the physiological systems that influence its behavior. Through this work, there has been increasing interest in how intentional nutritional support may complement metabolic support, lymphatic system support, and inflammation support when approached in a thoughtful and structured way.

Over the past three years, our team has developed a supplement program structured around three key physiological pillars: metabolic support, lymphatic system support, and inflammation support. The program was designed as an integrated system, combining focused nutrient formulations to support these pathways within a consistent daily regimen.

The program was developed under the leadership of Dr. David Amron, Founder and Medical Director of The Roxbury Institute, in collaboration with Karen Herbst, Ph.D., M.D., Head of Research and Director of Diagnosis and Prevention. This work reflects decades of clinical experience and scientific research in adipose tissue biology and metabolic health, supporting an evidence-informed approach to intentional nutritional support.

“In my 30 years as a clinician, physician, and surgeon, I have found that long-term wellness is rooted in consistent fundamentals such as nutrition, sleep, stress management, movement, and targeted nutritional support,” said Dr. David Amron. “This program was developed to provide a more structured and consistent approach to supporting key physiological systems as part of a broader, whole-person approach to health.”

Introducing the Three Supportive Formulas

Each formula within The Roxbury Institute Supplement Program was developed using carefully selected, therapeutic-grade ingredients and is manufactured in the United States in cGMP-certified facilities. All formulations were reviewed in collaboration with clinical leadership and informed by existing scientific literature, clinical observation, and decades of experience in adipose tissue and metabolic health.

Rather than following trends in supplementation, these formulations were designed to reflect a structured, evidence-informed approach to supporting metabolic, lymphatic, and inflammatory pathways through focused nutrient combinations.

Inflammation Support Formula

The Inflammation Support Formula was developed to support the body’s natural inflammatory response, which plays a role in how the body recovers, repairs, and responds to daily physical stress. While inflammation is a normal part of how the body functions, when it becomes imbalanced over time, it can affect how tissues feel and how the body performs day to day. Many individuals notice this as increased sensitivity, discomfort, or a general sense that their body is not recovering as easily. Prolonged, chronic inflammation can lead to fibrosis and the formation of scar tissue in various conditions.

This formulation was designed to support a more balanced inflammatory response through a combination of ingredients studied for their role in cellular health and antioxidant activity, helping to support overall system balance as part of a consistent daily routine.

The formulation includes bioavailable curcumin (Bio-Curcumin® (BCM-95®)), pine bark extract (Enzogenol®), alpha-lipoic acid, quercetin, and standardized ashwagandha extracts, with black pepper extract (BioPerine®) included to support absorption.

Lymphatic Support Formula

The Lymphatic Support Formula was developed to support the lymphatic system, which plays an important role in tissue fluid drainage, immune function, and overall detoxification within the body. When lymphatic pathways are not functioning optimally, individuals may notice feelings of heaviness, fluid retention, or swelling, particularly in the extremities.

Supporting lymphatic function is an important part of maintaining fluid balance and overall comfort. This formulation was designed to support these processes through a combination of ingredients studied for their role in lymphatic and vascular health.

The formulation includes micronized purified flavonoid fraction (diosmin and hesperidin), butcher’s broom extract, horse chestnut extract, selenium, dandelion leaf, and garlic extract, with black pepper extract (BioPerine®) included to support absorption.

Metabolic Support Formula

The Metabolic Support Formula was developed to support metabolic processes that influence how the body utilizes nutrients and produces energy. These processes play a central role in how efficiently the body functions on a daily basis.

When metabolic processes are not operating efficiently, individuals may experience lower energy levels, pain, difficulty maintaining consistency in daily routines, a general sense of sluggishness, or changes that can contribute to increased fat storage. Supporting metabolic pathways can help promote more efficient energy utilization and overall physiological balance.

This formulation includes a targeted combination of ingredients studied for their role in optimized metabolic function, including chromium, L-citrulline, L-arginine, acetyl-L-carnitine, dihydroberberine (DHB), and green tea extract, with black pepper extract (piperine) included to support absorption.

“The goal in developing these formulas was to focus on ingredients commonly studied for their role in supporting the body’s natural metabolic, lymphatic, and inflammatory pathways,” said Dr. Herbst. “By combining carefully selected nutrients in evidence-based dosages, we designed a program that supports essential functions within the body while remaining easy for individuals to incorporate into their daily wellness routines.”

The Roxbury Institute Supplement Program: Ingredient Strategy and Formulation Approach

Many supplement routines can feel overwhelming, especially when there’s uncertainty around what is actually needed and how to use products together effectively. This program was designed to simplify that process by organizing supplementation into three targeted formulas that can be taken together as part of a consistent daily routine.

Each formula includes ingredients that have been studied for their role in supporting specific physiological systems, allowing for a more structured approach rather than relying on isolated or single-ingredient products.

This program reflects years of clinical experience, ongoing research in adipose tissue biology, inflammation, lymphatic function, and metabolic health, and a continued effort to provide patients with clear, supportive options that align with a broader approach to care.

Expanding The Roxbury Institute’s Approach to Supportive Wellness

At The Roxbury Institute, our approach to care extends beyond surgery and procedures alone. Supporting patients with complex and chronic conditions requires a broader understanding of the systems that influence how the body functions over time, including connective tissue, inflammatory processes, lymphatic activity, and metabolic reactions.

The development of this supplement program reflects an ongoing effort by The Roxbury Institute to provide patients with tools that support overall wellness within a more comprehensive care framework. While supplementation is not a replacement for foundational elements such as nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management, it can play a supportive role when incorporated into a consistent routine.

This program represents an extension of that philosophy—offering a more structured and simplified way to incorporate targeted nutritional support as individual needs evolve over time.

A Continued Commitment to Patient-Centered Care

This program represents a continuation of The Roxbury Institute’s commitment to clinical excellence, research-driven care, and an approach that evolves alongside each patient’s needs over time. It was developed to provide a more structured and supportive option for individuals looking to incorporate targeted, daily nutritional support into a broader, long-term care plan.
